I needed a 18" light fixture to hold my UV bulb for my bearded dragon's (lizard) habitat. It worked perfectly. Despite the fixture's plastic body (which I preferred as it was more light weight and easier to mount) it's build quality is just fine. It has 2 sets of mounting holes allowing it to be mounted on the wall or ceiling. For those interested in using this fixture for their reptile, and are using a glass vivarium, I recommend mounting it with 2 or 3 3M all weather velcro-style strips ( [...]). These worked perfectly for me. I also used a Zoo Med Reptisun 10.0 18" UV bulb ( [...] ). Zoo Med has great bulbs but I find their light fixtures and other accessories very cheaply made. This fixture is 10x better than Zoo Med's own fixture and it's cheaper. You'll want to mount the fixture inside the vivarium, but out of reach of your reptile. Having UV bulbs sitting on top of screens can block a significant portion of your UV light.
